Kyoto - Arashiyama Sue taking coffee at Saga-Arashiyama station 13-Aug-1997 After the boat trip, we walked through the heat and humidity to Saga-Arashiyama station. Between Saga and Kameoka, there are now two alternate railway lines. The older one follows the gorge, with steep curves; the newer electric railway cuts straight through the gorge through a series of tunnels. Most trains use the new track, but the "Romantic Train" is a brightly coloured diesel and set of open carriages that follows the old track. This photo was taken as we waited for the departure of the romantic train.
