The Marshall Tower was built in the middle of the 16th cetury as a stronghold guarding the Nowomiejska Gate. In the 19th century it was partially demolished. The lower sections of the PROCHOWA BASTION were exposed and reconstructed between 1936 and 1938. Reconstuction was interruped by the war and finally completed in 1954.
