Warsaw
Bus
17-May-1975
This is one of the older style Warsaw buses.
There were three types of bus:
(i) The old bus used on town routes only.
(ii) Articulated versions of the old bus again used only on the town routes.
(iii) New buses built under license from Berliet (a French firm). These are similar in style to the British 'Leyland National' bus and are used on both town and limited stop services. These cost 3 zl. Per ride.
Warsaw public transport operates a flat fare system as
do all Polish towns. Tickets must be purchased in
advance (usually from RUCH) and are punched in a machine
in the bus to indicate use. Occaisionally a ticket
collector appears to check that all passengera have a
ticket, but in general all buses are single man operated.
Season tickets are available at the price of lOO zI. per
month.
