Warsaw
Trams
17-May-1975
This shows one of Warsaw's characteristic trams travelling North along Marszalkowska. The public transport in Poland is not very comfortable, but it is fairly cheap, even for the locals and provides a comprehensive service. A tram ride cost 1 Zloty and a bus 1½ Zl. (Old people travel for ½ Zl). In 1975, £1 bought 80 zloties at the tourist rate and was equivalent to about 20 zloties in terms of average wages)
