East London from the Monument
One of the more rewarding task:s in exploring London is the climb up the 300 plus steps of the Monument which commemorates the Great Fire of London of 1666. From the top there is a marvellous view East London and the river. The large building in the foreground is Billingsgate Fish Market. In the middle distance can be seen Tower Bridge and to the left of that is the Tower of London itself.
