London - Bayswater
Hill's Hotel
This hotel in Princes’ Square Bayswater was digs for the first year at Imperial College. It was a place of character, being a convicted brothel. Most of the residents were students or old women and all of the staff were foreign. Four years later as the New Langham Hotel there was to be a fire in which 10 people were to lose their lives. This photo was taken from Princes’ Square Gardens, an area for use by residents. (June 1968)
