Boppard

Evening in Boppard. It was wine festival time in Boppard and after dinner, several of us went up to the town square where the main festivities were taking place. There were a number of stalls selling their own wine and others selling things such as steak sandwiches and curried sausages. There was a dance floor and a typical German Oom-pah band. We sampled a number of the wines (1 DM per glass atter the first) and later adjourned to the boat and continued on deck. The mooring at Boppard was particularly noisy as there was a ferry very close and other boats moored to us overnight.
