Rhine Valley Schloß Stolzenfels 09-Aug-1975 This and succeeding photos were taken from the coach travelling along the East bank of the Rhine.
Stolzenfels is a suburb of Koblenz. The castle stands 80m above the river. The first one was built on this site in the 13th century by the Archbishop of Trier. The original was destroyed in 1689. It was rebuilt in 1936-42 by Frederik William IV of Prussia.
