Mike Lambert's Photo Albums

The Open Group

I have been taking photographs of events of The Open Group (and its predecessor X/Open) for more than 30 years.

Up to 2011, I maintained a web site containing a selection of photos. I have decided to reinstate this as a historical archive. Because of bandwidth limitations and the cost of web hosting, the original web site contained low resolution images. I am in the process of going back to original negatives and digital camera files and presenting pictures in the best possible resolution. This process will take some time. Sets of higher resolution images are highlighted.

The higher resolution images are presented via a separate cloud service. A lot of information about photos taken since July 1997, is available by clicking the “View Details” option at the foot of each photo. I have retained the original web pages (see the ] symbol) because they contain interesting captions describing the events, locations, and speakers.

You are free to download these photos for personal use only.

The rescanned images have been scanned at the highest possible resolution compatible with the original negative quality. As scanned, some of these images show a significant amount of grain. I have not attempted to correct this, because to do so means optimising for a particular display/print size.
