Les 3 Vallées - December 2001/January 2002

A trip by car to Mottaret (Meribel) with Sue, Cathy and Chris. We drove most of the way on Friday 28th December and arrived in Meribel in the late morning of 29th December. We had a reasonably spacious apartment, with one bedroom a mezzanine and two bathrooms.

Friday 28th December/Saturday 29th December

The drive down, arrival in Meribel and a little bit of very wet skiing.
Sunday 30th December

First real skiing. For most of the day visibility was poor. Whiteout on Aigle. Better at higher altitudes in the afternoon.
Monday 31st December

Cold. Val Thorens in the morning. Afternoon in Mottaret opposite the apartment. Cathy had problems.
Tuesday 1st January

First day of the Euro. Chris and I headed for Courcheval. After lunch we skied above Mottaret and on Mont Vallon.
Wednesday 2nd January

Chris and I went to the far side of Courcheval in the morning. Col des 3 Marches to meet Sue after lunch. Cathy had more problems.

Thursday 3rd January

Courcheval rebuilding Cathy's confidence in the morning. Over to St. Martin in the afternoon.
Friday 4th January

Courcheval with Cathy in the morning. Runs above Meribel in the afternoon.
