Power Station

Just North of Caeserea, we stopped for lunch at a restaurant sited in the shadow of the largest coal fired power station in Israel. Dominated by three enormous chimneys, it had its own port for delivery of coal and at least some effort had been taken to landscape the sand dunes.

Where there are tourists there are people trying to grow the tourist industry. This restaurant is obviously a frequent stop for tour buses, so a number of souvenir  shops and a glass blowing workshop were just opposite.

After lunch we had a little time to walk across the dunes towards the sea in the scorching heat.
