Metropolitan Hotel, Tel Aviv

We stayed at the Metropolitan Hotel, Tel Aviv for the first and last nights of the tour.

Locally known as the Sinai Hotel (just to confuse taxi drivers), it is a reasonable quality Tourist Hotel. On the first night, we had a very small room overlooking the car park, with very noisy air conditioning. Our room for the final night was rather bigger.

The hotel is not situated in a very attractive neighbourhood. The buildings all around are either falling down or being rebuilt.

But, the sea front is only 150 yards away (this photo was taken from the end of the road on the sea front) which meant that it was a very convenient base for the final night when we had spare time on our hands to walk along the sea front towards Jaffa.
