The CTO Tour

Leaving the Metropolitan Hotel in Tel Aviv, we were greeted by a clean modern air conditioned coach, which was almost full. The first picture was taken just outside of the hotel.

We picked up from two more hotels and then traveled South parallel to the coast until we got to a Kibbutz called Yad Mordechai, where we stopped for coffee (2nd picture) and then turned inland.

Unusually, there were no other coaches when we stopped at Masada, 3rd picture. In general wherever we went all week was crowded with tour buses.

The rest of the pictures show the rather attractive logo o the bus company (not the tour company), the sign for our tour and the interior of the bus one day before most people were on board.

Finally, the bottom two pictures show the driver's furry animals, the camel on the front window and the sheep above the passenger door.

Pictures of our tour guide, Hermann Cohen, in action.

The top row were both at the top of the cable car at Masada before we entered into the inside of the fortress.

The picture at bottom left was taken in the synagogue in Masada, while Hermann was explaining that although ruined, the synagogue is still Kosher and used occasionally for ceremonies.

The picture at bottom right was taken at the Second Temple Model. Here Hermann desperately tried to explain every detail about the temple. Many of us were distracted by the heat and lack of shade and didn't really take much in.
