MglSoft Meet Manager Software Now
Available
In response to many requests I am now prepared to make my Meet
Management software available for others to use.
The first 3 modules are now available:
- The Gala Recording Module records the results of an
inter-team gala, calculating points and producing results at the end
of the event. It may be used with the ARES Online Module to
operate online with Omega electronic timing systems and with the
Announcer Module to supply information for the announcer (using
a separate computer).
- The ARES Online Module collects online times from an
OMEGA ARES 21 (or OSM6) timing system and stores them in a database
for retrieval by other modules.
- The Announcer Module provides a console through which
other modules deliver prioritised messages for the competition
announcer, including heats lists, results, disqualifications,
official times, running scores.
Other modules currently exist and will be made available as and when
I have the opportunity to improve them to a suitable level of quality.
- The Meet Manager Module supports all aspects of running a
competition, including
- Recording of entries
- Entry cards
- Competition programme
- Results processing
- BAG Points
- Results sheets
It may be used with the ARES Online Module to operate
online with Omega electronic timing systems, with the Announcer
Module to supply information for the announcer (using a separate
computer), and with the Club Statistician Module for running
of internal club competitions.
- The Club Statistician Module supports the maintenance of
personal statistics information within a club, including
- Personal bests
- Full swim history
- Gala results
- Club records (including masters)
- Event selection

Important Caveats
This is not commercial software. It is provided, as is, free of
charge as a service to swimming. Some aspects of this software do not
meet the standards of usability that is normally expected from
commercial software.
There is no formal support service and the author accepts no liability
for any problems arising from the use of this software. I will endeavor
to respond to e-mail questions and to generate a FAQ covering elements
of operation of the software that are not intuitive.
Suggestions for improvement are welcome, but I can give no guarantee
that suggested improvements will be incorporated, nor accept any time
constraints.
