A Tired Day, but I Drive the Car

Last night, I didn't sleep very well at all. I must work out whether there is any correlation between not sleeping and the stage in the treatment cycle. I was not uncomfortable or in pain, I just didn't seem to need to sleep. I am quite relaxed about nights like this. I am perfectly content to lie in bed and read a book.

Today, I am going to try driving for the first time since the start of August. I think my hip has improved to the point where I am safe driving. If I can undertake short trips on my own, it will take some of the strain off Sue.

I drove into town. The position of the accelerator pedal put a little bit if pressure on my hip, so long distances are out, but I can safely drive a few miles.

A few days ago, we decided that we needed a SATNAV for the new car I got in March. Our immediate need was before we go to Sheffield in mid October. But, we need to find a hotel in Brighton tomorrow, so today we got one. Our immediate impression is how much the suction cup mountings have improved since we got our previous SATNAV. Tomorrow we will be able to test its navigation capabilities.

All of a sudden after lunch, I got overcome with tiredness. A couple of nights with too little sleep is catching up on me. An hour snooze let me recover.

When I woke up, the sun was shining, ideal conditions to get some exercise. I extended my afternoon walk by about 200 yards, by taking the footpath by the side of the Texaco garage to Poynings Crescent.

This was a little bit of a challenge. I had to clamber across an advertising hoarding that had fallen over. When I got back home, I felt much more awake and ready to do some more work.

Tomorrow we are going to the Sussex County ASA Dinner in Brighton. I started to try out the new SATNAV by programming the route. Then, I realised that I couldn't find the invitation with details of the location. Eventually after about 40 minutes, I found a poster on the web. I was very relieved when I got an answer to an e-mail from someone in Sussed confirming that I have the correct location.

After dinner, I was still very tired, so resorted to watching a DVD rather than doing anything more challenging.
